Untitled (Listen and if you do)

Listen, and if you do
Do not listen that you may find
Something that might make you stronger braver purer
In body and mind
Do not listen with greedy ears
Or you will be sorry. Do not try
To steal from the dragon that guards
This mystery.
Lean back in your chairs and be simple
And childlike and foolish and vain
And open your minds without fear
Heed neither joy nor pain
For these are mere flesh and blood
And the song
Carries them because it has been born
To love the sun.
